During the past few weeks , I realized that there is a difference between Self Importance and Self Reflection.
Scientific studies have shown that eyewitness accounts are too often incorrect. People see what they want to see according to their predjudices.
I am amazed to find, as I re-examine, or reread books such as Castaneda, that what I thought was the content, wasn't at all. My Self- Reflection read its
own purpose into events or content.
So, I find a central purpose of the lessons of Juan Matus. That being, and it is called other things I suppose, that Self Reflection binds the mind , and
prevents perception of reality ; it creates its own reality. One wanders lost in a mental wasteland, and worse, an actual distorted world is created by
false perception. It is held in place by the assemblage point, as don Juan stated.
The source of this is, as Castaneda wrote, is the continual reinforcements of childhood upbringing, and , at least in my own case, action or reaction related
to such conditioning.
The Knock of the Spirit opened me up to an understanding of my life history. I had no idea of who I really had been, and once I learned the truth of it,
understanding led to a new kind of life. Not much to be done to change what had been, so, the only option becomes the way of the Warrior-
to accept my Fate, grow in impeccability, and continue life in the forward direction.
