I used to get a loud buzzing in my ears, too. Eventually instead of freaking out and hurting I would simply listen to the buzz. Get as close to the buzz as I could. Go deep into the uncomfortable, irritating ringing and find a strange music in it. Now I realize after I did that the same intent allowed me to begin hearing the clear way in every persons thoughts.
Once in a canyon tripping on pscyhedelic mushrooms the buzzing became so overwhelming that I was convinced beyond any doubt that it was a frequency being broadcast by an alien species and that I was communicating witn them by projecting my own sound waves.
Interesting to note that one can call pods of dolphins to them in places like hawaii by placing the hand in a funnel shape on the forehead and making sound projecting it out the third eye by vibrating the forehead.
