Yes, it does make sense.
When I use the word "faith," though, I don't mean it in quite the same way. It is more about the reliability of intent. We can trust intent because it does not arise from agendas or delusions or the tonal.
I didn't think that "dependent" was quite the word I needed to use but I couldn't think of any other one at the time. I think that I should have said somehow that it is the sorcerer's side of intent, and not intent, itself, that depends upon those things.
If there is no imagination to drive intent...and no trust in it, either, then it is out of reach. It certainly still exists, since, as you say, it depends on nothing...it just is. But if there is no idea behind the intent, then there will be no manifestation.
If intent lies between question and answer, then I see the imagination as the question and the faith (trust) as the answer.
I think, for many people, that the idea of faith, as belief, that is, belief in something either being possible or impossible, is what limits their perception of the limitless...they do not perceive infinity because they can not drum up a belief that such a thing could be possible...so they put their trust in their belief rather than trusting in infinity's endless possibilities and absolute disregard for the concept of "impossible."
There is no intent available if one is already limited to thinking of existence as already completely defined and bound in their visible ordinary tonal world, confined by what they believe to be possible and maybe even permissible.
That's just my take on it, however, and is really of no consequence. Also, I'm new to all this as far as vocabulary, and meanings of words commonly used, is concerned. But even regardless of knowing the lexicon or not, it is perpetually difficult to express the experiential through verbal means...as I'm certain you are already well aware.
