It wasn't his fate, it was his conquest! ANY warrior could achieve
that. Saying that it was his fate is suggesting that he didn't do a thing to earn it. He didn't ***, he didn't indulge in any way, he obeyed the
commands of the spirit. You call that fate? That is excelling in warriorship! He gave up a lot to take his practice to that level!
Don Juan didn't, Genaro didn't.
Don Juan was the nagual chosen by Julian, but he depended of omens and signs to know what to do. Silvio didn't. He recieved all the indications directly
from the Spirit. For better or worst, he wasn't the nagual, but he was (again, in Don Juan words)
"The most powerful and dangerous".
You call that "just a warrior" ??
If he was open in half and had his nagual pulled out, we don't know.
Anyway, specialization is a sad tendency of the nagual path. Warriors should be proefficient in all the ways of the path, not just one.

You make your statements as though the Castaneda series is your only 'holy bible'. If it's in the Castaneda books then it
automatically must be true, right? So if it says that the Spirit takes no volunteers that must be true, right?
Wrong! But that much is about right. If you are a volunteer you are not viable, mainly because at some point in the path volunteers will not want
to go further. They are more for the tonal than for the Spirit. You are either viable or not. Cults-of-volunteers are a spiritual dead-end. It's a symptom
of how very unprofound is the cult and how very little they know about the overall spiritual path.
If you are not viable you CAN become viable by sustained efforts and several trials, but it's an exception of the rule.
Don Juan and that particular line of Naguals NEVER took volunteers. Most (if not all) real Masters
don't. Power is a serious affair. Teaching to anyone that happens to walk by produces aberrated tonals and endangers the unviable person and his social
context.
Black seers (of every single tradition of earth) are mostly unviable individuals with knowledge. Some are viable but with exaggerated tonal ambitions. Instead
of using the knowledge for spiritual purposes, they use it to get ahead in the tonal world and/or harm others.
That is why there are teachings for every level of being. The problem comes when a soul in spiritual kinder-garden learns "university level"
teachings.
It's like giving a Tommy Gun to a monkey.
