"The secret of slipping out of the grip of social conditioning lies in the fact that the hunter places himself in a position that is beyond psychological manipulation."
I've touched on this "position"....this space. I know it first hand. I can't say I've yet the ability to sustain it indefinitely, but that is certainly my intent. So I look for this space and intend to uphold it whenever I find it. The cool thing about this space is that it is (or it seems to be) totally devoid of flyer influence. It doesn't exist there...it is empty of it. It is irrelevant. The issue is, the mental notion of the self doesn't exist there either...so its a little freaky being there, for me...because I've snuggled with the 'self' for so long....mangy teddy bear its become.
LOL...just had a memory flash of out of body dream I had some time back where I walked into the living room after rolling out of my body and saw a purple stuffed animal sitting on the couch. When I looked away and then turned to look again, it had grown to human size sitting there on the couch, looking forward vacantly....yet I knew the thing was alive and aware in some unholy way....trying to engender shock and fear. I had to face my fear in that moment, which was almost electric in its intensity...and I walked up to it and grabbed it. And then, somehow, I made it disappear by cramming it into my third eye.
In a way, looking back, the teddy bear growing and becoming life sized is like the flyer. Its starts as a notion when I am young...something given to supposedly help deal with the world.....thoughts of self that seem to help me find my place. But then it grows into something macabre and grotesque...something unwieldy and ridiculous. My ego...my self absorption. A giant, freakish plushy that needs to be gotten rid of.
But as big and as absurd as it is, it can be dissolved instantly by becoming aware, through and through. *pop!* It's gone, when awareness fleshes out in a way that the mind silences. Where did it go? Was it ever there to begin with?
