Traditionally, King Solomon's Temple was built by demons.
I understand the moral of this story to be that anyone can have slaves, but making them build a Temple for you is something else entirely, and that's why they called him King Solomon the Wise.
I must say, I see nothing necessarily unethical about harvesting power by CULTivating a garden of disciples.
