You can't just superimpose the shamanic tradition on grimoire style demonology obviously, but the ring isn't important, the Name of God. But in context, making a ring like that, inscribing it with the Name of God, it's not a trivial thing to do. The ring itself, the physical, finger-shaped metal hole, is ALSO a powerful object.
