There is. In the Qabala it is called "rising on the Planes." It is accomplished by placing your consciousness in and around various places around the
body. Western Mysticism's method of moving the assemblage point, I believe. You can actually "Rise above" the physical and astral planes where
nature spirits and elementals dwell.
There are planes where demons cannot reach. They can be left behind/below as it were. Some of the higher planes can be even more frightening in a different
manner though. Power dwells there and the body and mind must be prepared? or ready for such power. Any emotion can become the straw that breaks the camel's
back.
".. my only guess is that he was trying to direct our attention to the energy that manifests on the front of the assemblage point, the side that faces
away from the body. What I have found, repeatedly, is that there is a unique type of energy there, unique in that it is hard to classify as either organic or
inorganic. In my travels within dreaming, I have come across this energy in free standing form, to me it looks like a "tree".
I have always wondered about this. Does man look like a tree to some level of inner sight?
You are the first to confirm my theory. It did not make sense that it took Jesus two trys to heal this man.
I knew it had to be for some specific reason that this story is told in this unique way.
