This is an excellent way of explaining it. Yes, the double has his/her own assemblage point, and his/her own agenda. This is the process of "inhabiting the totality of oneself".
You, being a nagual being are naturally more nagual then tonal in your normal state and you listen very closely to yourself and are aware of omens and signs from the spirit that you have a natural link to (you were born with it). In this 'normal' state you go about your business in a heighten awareness because your a nagual being. When you dream you are able to access your dreaming double (which has its own tonal) whose power you are pretty much a captive of, for it is you times ten (manner of speaking). If you can manifest the third attention you become aware of two minds, two double beings in one, four compartments separate but still one.
Yes - just to confirm what you are saying here - this has also been my experience. The double being is born with 4 compartments of energy (the 2 compartments of "self" and the 2 compartments of the double). At some point the double goes to third attention, much as described in CC's works, to serve as teacher/beacon/mentor. The human "half" then spends a lifetime "following" that beacon - the transmigration of the soul from human to eternal, or from organic to inorganic.
The third awareness for you is binding as it gives you awareness of what is greater than you but is you. This knowledge and seeing produces the fire from within. One burns from inside to remove the walls put up since childhood. One learns what they are if they live through it. The price? One's humanity I suppose..(smile). Is your dreaming double a manifestation of a double being? Yes for we all our double beings for we have two assemblage points accessing different awareness's. The price is indeed one's "humanity" in the sense that the things that are important to most "humans" are no longer important to the warrior once s/he has burned with the fire from within. I am fortunate in that I met and interacted with my double for a brief time, as I have described at length on my website. The ONLY thing that protected me from don Juan's caveat that "the warrior who meets his double is a dead warrior" was the fact that this occurred BEFORE I had gained the ability to *see*. That was the key element - but as I began to become more and more aware, as I began to suspect that something was very peculiar about this "man", I actually observed this "man" burn with the fire from within. Right in front of me. The burning had physical effects on me that were debilitating and damn near killed me. Literally. That was the moment my double went to dwell in "third attention" - and my impulse/compulsion to follow that other half of myself is what makes me a warrior, what makes me have "no choice" in the matter... which is precisely the way he and I set it up. Just simply "the way of things."
It's also important to note that the double may or may not be an exact "duplicate" of oneself. My own double has always been gender-opposite. Others say their double looks just like themselves. Personally, I think it's largely a matter of how the warrior and his double choose to play "the game" of Life. My double acts as a muse (something to be chased, never caught), and as a teacher through the art of silent knowing.
Achieving the totality of oneself is what occurs when the human self transmogrifies or transcends the tonal, and re-conjoins with the double in another attention. What is the totality of oneself? Simply this: the combined total experiences of self and double, including all so-called "past lives" (which really aren't "past" at all), dreaming and astral experiences, and everything both "halves" have experienced throughout time and beyond. Because the double is not constrained by humanform rules, the double IS the warrior's "parallel lives" - past, future, alternate dimensional. Achieving the totality of oneself is, of course, the first step toward the NEXT evolution. It doesn't end with totality. That's where it begins.
