I personally discount dreams that I hear from other dreamers unless they can see while dreaming.
One technigue to verify if its a I.B. is to point your finger and shout are you a foreign installation and most of the time you will get a blast of electrical current and you will see the figure in front of you change shape, that works some of the times and then you will encounter more crafty I.B.'s that will hold their shape.
The best technigue is to state by voiceing in your dream that you what to see their energy and then depending on what energy configuration they change into you will know what you are dealing with.
These technigues are ones that I personally use.
People that can reach their seeing if they intend it while in a lucid state of dreaming, most people spend most of there energy on flying and other things my advise is to spend your time cutting through the deception of the foriegn energy.
Look at it this way once you learn to dream you are then in the foreign energy world and must learn to travle on out side of that, this is where I'm at in my developement of dreaming.
If you see the figure as a glowing sphere like an egg then you know that what you are dreaming is real and not disguised as a Inorganic being.
