This discussion is clearly for the naguals. i.e. , none of my business. I'll leave the identifying and reigning in for those in-the-know.
As for that of those untrained, I know where my simple little dojo is (in here!), where we only know one move. Back to the ring!
I'll stick around and speak up when I actually know what it is I'm talking about. Until then For what it's worth, my fear is that of the 1st category, I'm guessing. (Mods, can add this to my previous post, if you like, for the sake of tidiness). Fear is still there, but far less so than, say, many years ago during my adolescence, teens, twenties. Social phobia is the more obvious manifestation of this for me over all.
I've countered by throwing myself into situations/career where things get hairy with people all around...and have also had some good hell-raising encounters in the second attention, some of which I've done pretty good, remaining impassive....others in which I've run like a squirrel.
All in all, I don't know where I'm at with your above mentioned pathway in terms of progress, but feel I'm better off than I was 15 years ago.
As mentioned, et nauseum, I only know one method of progress and that's adhering inwardly...anchoring there...and then facing outwardly whatever comes from that stance.
