where nORTH appears is where the part of the lip today meetsthe portion of shell upon which it is built.social conditioning(maybe)but actually a very strong completion of a cycle in the now.north is the point at which the floor becomes the ceiling in a previous year.
north west would be the curve of the inside edge of the shell..north east would be a line from the lip of shell down and around the alreadybuilt outside curve.the east would be the shell whos destiny it is to be builtand the south would be a mathematical modelwhich describes the way a spiral is built.
