If we take magic to be an AP shift, then no question about it. Happens to me every time i read a certain person's dream thread in RF. I think this person writes from going very close to the dream state and it is very hard for me to get through the whole dream post. I keep loosing focus, and get pulled, want to go sleep. I therefore have to dose these posts as i dont want to get into such a state during the day.
Also, we know CC's books had 'magic', so its possible to put it in threads too, just the threads might have to keep a certain setting/intent up for a while. And be written from similar states.
I do not know about rosy and how s/he views his/her posts, or what s/he thinks on this topic.. But I see this place as a meeting spot not a personal diary or talking to one self. The first function of a site like this is to share (while thinking of others too) and communicate. If you want to write in such a way that 'you' is all it needs, then blog is what you usually go for on the web. So, I look at these people and shake my head, if i feel they are not trying to communicate with the public (in this case us - visitors of the site). Yes, personal threads can be incorporated in sites such as these and surely it makes sense to have them. But if a user's main activity is posting that does not try to be clear and communicative then, imo, its not as good as it could be.
For some reason some think that going at things through other attention makes things cryptic and unintelligible to normal sense. This does not have to be the case. These people have just not made it a point in the conditions they require. This is what results in the general public having image of shamans as some incoherent blabberers (as if or) on drugs. People who post like this here perpetuate this image when the truth is that shamans can be people like DJ, who are very rational, make sense, can talk sensibility and at the same time shift their AP to various spots and influence others. Not to mention I know someone who shows this kind of possibility very well in my real life, so its not just 'book characters' who can do it (saying this if somebody wanted to go argue about such a senseless point) .
Rationality seemed to be very valued by DJ and CC. They wanted the people around to study university to develop their rational mind (and ofc university was just a tool, other tools can be used for that). A sorcerer with good rationality is more stable and also does not loose themselves as easily.
The shaman is not about blabbering incoherent stuff but translate things for the public, communicate (i dont mean to say this is not what the shamans in many parts of the world do, but i tend to look at that as some kind of degenerate shamanism, old and outdated). Their primary function is to bring things from out there into coherent form, among other things they do it so that they share this with people who can learn even though they cant travel out as far. (And I do not mean to say by this that they should not make use of metaphors, stories, images, scenes.. no surely not, creativity/poetry in all forms is crucial in expressing.)
But ofc for this some skill is needed, its just that i find it sad people dont require this of themselves. we can change the way the general public looks at this community if we did. It wouldnt be 'those crazy people' but more like 'these people got some skill and make a lot of sense, not to mention they can give good helpful tips for real life too'. (someone's reaction at this spot could be to say 'why should we care what they think?' This was not the point why i said that. But, well, if you are among those who had this reaction i suggest you think/feel on it a bit before sprouting that direction into this thread. and then if you still want to go into it make another thread for it , cause that is a totally different topic. imo shaman is controlled insanity, so they/we should be able to project sanity on the outside)
Let members of this site stalk the (or from the) nagual, but they dont need to put the stuff in front of my/public's eyes in order to do that, unless they want to share something with me in a way that has the intent of communication. And that they can do as the second phase of their own personal effort in nagual regions.
What more, they can make a post in some style and then explain it too (which is what I like when rosy does it). That would actually be a learning tool for lots of people, it would help them be able to understand what rosy does and learn the skill of 'translating' it.
What concerns me rosy is not 'getting away' with much. I tend to avoid these kind of posts, only read them with the right mood/setting for me. And if a third party had not alerted me to rosy's picture in that picture thread which i then removed I would probs not have noticed it (or not for some time). You might have seen a certain user posting here a while back who could make perfect sense and did so at first and then just digressed into these incoherent posts which spread out all sorts of bad stuff. I avoided those like the plague (but sadly others were drawn to it like flies, cause imo they felt the power there). Even though one does not understand things with reason one still feels, some things reek with stuff i wont even go into reading, other things just dont give me anything or too little in return for reading them (and ofc we all have slightly different interests). And I try not to waste my energy on such. So until I see people with intent to share in a communicative style that tries to reach out to their readers I might just not bother with the posts. Ofc unless it is a section for personal sharing, blog style, which i go into with and when have the right setting. But I do not like these kinds of posts mixed in with the rest of a communicative thread. It feels then like people are pulling at different threads and no carpet can be woven like that. People need to listen better before they speak (and i include myself into this category, listening is pretty hard sometimes). People just jump the gun and bring stuff from places that doesnt connect very well/is not relevant, although the post is interesting and can bring out good points, it just does not go into that thread, and the people who are waiting for that plant to grow just witnessed a whole bunch of fertilizer that would be perfect for say an arctic plant be dumped on a cactus
potentially good stuff in the wrong spot, makes the thread's intent weaken.
(and I apologize to rosy for using her/him as an example in some parts of this post if it does not go well with him/her. It seemed to be the best way to go about it in order to be clear in my rely here. I find it is ok if it is done respectfully and with good intent for all included (it should not ever be used for personal attacks, even if, or especially when, they are dressed up as intents to help). I dont mean to change rosy, nor do i dislike her/his presence and activity on this site. let her/him post however s/he likes as long as the site allows it and right now it does, within some politeness limits, and i dont see that changing in the future. Not under my watch . Though i would prefer to not mix such posts into threads with different kind of focus and I do hope that people will start noticing more the 'mood' of the threads and respect it.)
--- so, yes, i am still reaching out to that place from which ideas and things come from to be clearer on how to better make sections for this place. And this is one of the things i am 'contemplating'. Why not make a section with having Nagual, or something similar in meaning, in the title (then ofc removing the one that has nagual in the title now) that would be for threads/posts from/for the other side, kinda rosy's style. I am waiting for stuff to settle and emerge more clearly on this topic, hopefully i wont be waiting too long on that. I need to see the other sections a bit better too before i start to make changes.
