My petty tyrant comes in the form of people who overly indulge in idle talk and constantly feel the need to express their opinion. I used to think it was an unfeminine trait not to be able to engage in this style of expression. I would find myself in these situations not feeling inadequate for such expression. I was dubbed the listener as others talked my ear off with their opinions and small talk. I began to have selective hearing from these one-way conversations. The others were there to hear themselves talk and to have a sounding board such as myself.
I now removed myself mentally from all forms of petty conversation. If I am sitting in on these kinds of conversation I am mentally a bored *** but you could never guess it because I actually act like I am interested in this conversation not to be ignorant. I have transcended the tendency of thinking that talking is the way to express oneself in the now.There are plenty of other ways to exprees oneelf that don't need talk. Small talk is wasted energy. I try to immerse myself in varied forms of conversations such as group lectures where there is one common theme being expressed with different views allotted.
