So this would be the sixth gate and the seventh is the other one that is mentioned in the quotes from CC and the one you mention your teacher showing you. I have not experienced this seventh one yet, or do not remember. Hm, I remember a strange feeling on the top of my head, but I cannot pinpoint it to a memory set in time and space.
I am no expert in the chakras, though I have opened most and experienced awakening of the senses that they seem to be aligned with.
My yeacher was adamant that the kundalini or baptism of fire came down from outside the body and turned and rose within the body.
it is not an energy coiled in the base of the spine, or rather THAT energy is awakened by the force that comes down from above.

Ps 24:7
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Ps 24:8
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Ps 24:9
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Ps 24:10
Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
I do not work with chakras or meditate. When I was doing Tai Chi a few years ago my tai chi teacher, while checking our body posture during some stance where how we have our shoulders was important, commented that I have that chakra open. I understood the location he was referring to to be somewhere at the base of the neck (a spot there felt good in that position when I focused on it after, the chakra was supposedly flowing better through it in that position). So guess that was the throat chakra. It meant nothing to me in the sense that I did not know what it means . I just thought about this now when you mentioned the Kundalini, which I now understand as an energy that goes through all the centers.
I don't know whether the nape of the neck and the throat chakra are the same thing.

To sublimate the sex energy is part of Kundalini meditation. My teacher used to say it was very rare for a person to pull the energy above the neck. It seemed to be a dividing line of sorts.
So in order to pull the energy above means that the energy has to flow from down to up to open this other point and hear this sound that we heard? Do you think that since one heard the sound that it means that at least at that time all the chakras below were open? Would the base of the skull count as above the neck already or not yet. The specific spot I feel is to be just where the neck meets the skull, there is a sort of hollow in that region.
And that is where I felt and heard the pop. These things seem to follow the grey matter in the human body. The nape of the neck is all grey matter. So are many plexus in the body. Like trees or bushes made of gey matter, the largest is the solar plexus area.
One thing that has been of interest to me is how to transform sexual energy into some other energy. I therefore click on all sexual energy (and transforming sexual energy) posts but they are not focusing on what I am looking for. I do not looking for how to make my sexual experiences better or what to do while having sex, I am looking for changing arousal into another form of energy. I manage to do this sometimes by pulling the energy up, by intending it. But sometimes I am not able to do so. Could you please say more on the sublimating of sex energy? How do you do that and to what do you sublimate it? I have encountered one specific way that is possible, that is to relocate the energy to a specific place that needs healing. I remembered this once in dreaming when I felt arousal and managed to do so. I also tried spreading the energy into the whole body. These are just some spontaneous ways that have come up, I would appreciate if you could trow some of your wisdom into this..
My teacher was a very practical man. He taught body awareness and mind awareness as a foundation for meditation. Body awareness is the ability to be able to sit for long periods of time without moving and completely comfortably. It takes practice and discipline. Then Mind awareness, the ability to sit for long periods of time without any or just one thought going through your mind. You basically calm your thoughts and just observe as thoughts run through your mind. Eventually you lose a connection with them. just observe as if it is happening to someone else.
So if and when you get to that point you can begin to meditate.
The meditation used to sublimate the sexual energy is the "point meditation." Or the "thousand Petalled Rose" as it is known in Eastern Traditions. Place your awareness (as I described before) just above your head directly over the spinal column. Keep it there. That is it. Seems simple and it is
in what you do but it takes some discipline and practice.
If you feel any sexual stimuli just use you will as you mentioned or physically pull it up while keeping the awareness on that "point."
The same meditation with the addition of reaching up from that point is used for Rising on the planes.
Like I said my teacher was a practical man, as am I. Though he was able to open chakras and circulate energy at will because he was a healer, he also taught what was most needed.
In the way of the mystic there are things that get "bypassed" because going up the "middle pillar" of the tree of life confers the knowledge of the Sephiroth on the two side pillars.
This is as opposed to the way of the occultist who tries to experience all of the paths and Sephiroth in order on the way up the tree of life. This way leads to imbalance and can lead to insanity and death.
I see the chakras the same way. If I open the top chakra the others will open as needed.
The main thing is that the gates open and the "Lord of Glory" comes in. I may miss some details, but they will be filled in later.
By the way, the sublimating of sexual energy does work. I notice very distinct benefits as long as I have been doing this meditation. You go through life more calmly and less ruled by emotions and lustful thoughts etc. And you begin to experience the world in other, deeper ways.
I hope this helps,
