You mentioned having performed the sorcerer's blow on people in the past.
I was going to as you if you thought that that blow between the shoulder blades may have had the effect of shocking the nape of the neck when the student was ready.
It seems like it could have the same effect there as a whiplash does when rear ended by a car.
