Some wise words from Curtis Sensei to us a couple of years ago.
"The point of our training here, what I'm getting to, is to get real, to stop faking it."
"Because in a life and death situation, you don't have any time for fakery. You don't have any time for an illusion about who you are, or what's happening, or who they are, or what's happening with them."
"There's no amount of self-mastery, no amount of technical perfection will get you by, and save your life, or save the life of a loved one."
"I don't care if you spend your whole lifetime learning how to do different martial arts, and how to become adept in every one of them, it won't be worth squat, if, in the moment of life and death, you're confused about who you are."
"Your reaction, or your actions in all situations, are exactly as limited as your conception of who you are. Because you act from who you are, not who you imagine yourself to be."
"To be authentic, to be real, you must be free flowing, like water."
"If you want to have a mind that flows like water it can't very well be fixed in some place. It can't be definable."
This, for me, relates to the above post.
Can you relate? Please share your thoughts...
And the point i was making .. SHM.. between A=B.. is that to have a mind that flows like water is not necisarily a good thing!
if you are a self healed madman..
you know that your inflexible attitude earlier set you up for some powerful lessons.
which you would have missed if you had had choice to avoid.
if you are to tackle your FEAR you must have aspects of your mind which never move even when your world is being stripped away! As they crack under pressure they tell you of yourself! how else can you dismantle?
for instance..
If you crack a rock in half with a hammer.. you see its formation..lines of straition.
dismantlement tells you a lot about structure..
If you melted the rock to a very high temperature until it was jelly.. it would tell you nothing except its melting temperature! and without your experience of its earlier cracking.. what do you have except a bit of Slag?
Its all very well being fluid but try to get some innfallable lessons along the way!
ALL rocks can be turned to slag..
No rocks crack the same!
even a gem cutter will tell you that!
