When I was a child, there was an old abandoned 3 story house in the woods nearby. My friends and I would sneak into the house and explore it from time to time. This house, with hidden stairways, attic, and all kind of mystery began showing up in my dreams. It became a recurring dream for me.
I hadn't had the dream for many years, but had it last night. I was inside the house, climbing old stairways and being fascinated by the old objects that I saw. I entered a room that had been the library and saw some metaphysical books that I recognized. Then I saw some other people who were also exploring the house. A man was looking at a deck of tarot cards that I recognized as mine. We began talking about an eccentric, spiritual man who had lived there, but I lost the dream at this point.
When I woke up I realized that this old abandoned house was actually my own ego structure. It was my personal history that I lug around with me. It is old baggage that I carry for security and protection but it actually keeps me from experiencing the freshness of the eternal now. I don't think I'll need to have this dream anymore.
