Nice post. You have seen what blocks us from experiences of the nagual, that magical flow of energy that is just under the surface, and is for our using if we gather enough power and understanding to use it. What blocks us for the most part is duality, like you said black is black, white is white. It is hard to talk about just where we find this "program" of duality, but I believe we should look to our heart, or rather our heart chakra, for lying over this area is this program of duality. This is why, I believe, that the mystics and masters were pointing to this area, this is why Don Juan Matus tells us to follow a path with heart.
The best way to point this out to others is to call it intuition, or simply say that it is listening to your soul. I teach intuitive based process arts, by painting without a goal in mind, I teach my students to listen to this small little voice within, then bring it out in the painting, to be led and let it happen without worrying that it is irrational, or ugly, or scary. The internal dialog within a lot of my students is so strong that it takes a long time for them to be able to do it, if ever.
That feeling of it having no place in modern rational society is something we must try to change. I believe the shift over into the Age of Aquarius is going to make this imperative for us. If you think the depression rates, suicide rates and violent crimes were bad before....well look out, I feel it is only going to get worse.
Don't worry about how much of you is a product of social conditioning, just become aware of it, know it is there, and work to keep seeing through it, you have already done the hardest thing, seeing it for what it is. To deepen your awareness of this force within, use tools like automatic writing, meditation, art making like I described above, heck, even reading tarot cards, runes, throwing the I-Ching, is great for working on this area. Choose what you do based on your interests and predilection. Also, Mornings Son made an interesting post about the Force, I was just reading it yesterday, you will find lots in this posting of his.
You are already there Lea, I sense that you are being called to teach others about this force within and that is why you are pondering it.
