I did an exercise last night with death. I wasnt planning to do it, it just happened. There is chi kung ( I think it is chi kung, but it might be some other eastern art) exercise called, Embracing the Tree, where one stands flexibly and patiently like a tree, but with arms in front as if gently hugging a tree. Theres a lot more to it than that, but I think you get the gist of it. So I was doing it and thought Id tweak the exercise so as to make it unique to myself. Spirit is almost always dissatisfied if I go by the book and do routines. So instead of visualizing embracing the tree, I gently and lovingly hugged death for about five minutes in this pose.
We talked like lovers and kissed and just mingled and lingered together. And then as I finished the pose I walked through the image of death. There was an amazing energy boost and a relaxation release that happened. Wonderful. No worries. Dynamic Peace.
I wept (bawled, really) for my first cat for two weeks (on and off), visualizing how he used to come to me when I was sitting in the recliner and find a comfortable place in the wedge of my elbow and then we could stare into each others eyes. I still get sad sometimes, but I'm convinced that death is not a bad place. In fact, I think it is joy to know that death is waiting, like a well earned vacation for everyone. Life is more interesting though.
