"What is most thought provoking in this thought provoking time is that we are still not thinking." (Martin Heidegger)
The most thought provoking is , that most thoughts are not my own thoughts. They are the flyers thoughts. A conditioned critical attitude , is also flyer thoughts. Doubt – I do not mean healthy scepticism- is a typical phenomena of the dualistic “double” mind .The mantra but, but, but makes a perfect butt-hole .
Original human thinking is possible, but rare. It starts , when you get rid of the flyers – and all other foreign thoughts. The little book “What is called Thinking ?” of the german philosopher Martin Heidegger is a good introduction into the effort ( and adventure) of real human thinking.
The capacity for own original thinking or third attention of the sorcerers , has to be trained like a dystrophic muscle. It starts with a persistent enquiry , i.e what is thinking ?, what is mind beyond matter?, what is free will ? what is existence? Who am I ? At first it is very difficult, because we are so used with the easy-going, complacent habitual thoughts of the F.I . After some training it is great fun. The development of the ability to think is as important as the decision about the content of original thinking. The choice to think about the issue of thinking in-it-self as a very good choice to start.
