Since i just started recap, i let whatever thoughts i have start me out i don't have a set order for anything spontaneity leads me to where i need to go, i do go over the present days events and recap on that while the memories and emotions are still fresh and if given an opportunity during the day i use any place that i can for recap even if its in the car. Making a list is a great idea and is beneficial in the long run that way it allows you to cover more territory and dig deeper.
If the thoughts are still there, then one needs to go over it with a fine tooth comb again and again.
