Armanda/Carlitos is right..People need to believe in monsters and aliens. It frees them from having to face the reality: the only demons and obstacles are those we create and those we seek out.
You seem to be seeking out demons on the one side, and saviours on the other (Carlitos vs. the flyers, or Armanda vs. the Foreign Installation.) As long as you engage in that kind of taking up of sides (dualisms), you doom yourself to live them.
