The "flyer" simply is one type of the energies of the universe interested in learning about us, but it's quite strange and big, and the many
other energies the human is composed of may have a problem if it comes in too heavy to have a look at us.
You can describe most of these energies in physical terms (you could describe all of them such way, however, physics isn't advanced enough yet to do so).
That shiny silverish thing is the electrons, that yellowish sparkling thing the protons, that smooth white thing the neutrons, the photons are very colorful
and subtle, neutrinos are black fibers or sometimes a greyish continuum, the elements are different colors (oxygen for example is the red world), space is
black, and there are some others also.
Those flyers, well, maybe the neutrinos in some uncommon clumped together form (has anyone ever seen them as fibers?), or something else, maybe dispersed parts
of space (from a higher dimension).
It certainly is immature and foolish to see them as enemies, they are a part of the universe as everything else, and will be great friends and very helpful
once we crossed the gap and have accustomized ourselves to each other.
It is also part of the human past to see everyone and everything that is strange and uncommon as possible enemies, people were quite paranoid some thousands of
years ago when there was a strong competition between the tribes and many wars just to extinguish the rivals.
This might have been good for human evolution, it propelled it, there were so many different australopithecines and homini erecti, and only the best survived
and the others got erased, but nowadays I guess everyone agrees that this stance is counter-productive and we better be brothers and friends among the whole of
humanity.
(Okay, some of them are not evolved enough to do what we do, but it would be utterly stupid to fight them and extinguish them actively, because we would bring
ourselves more harm than good, and they'll fade away anyway, so being a warrior and seeing enemies everywhere is stupid.)
Simply stupid.
