Don Juan's Explanation Of The Foreign Installation
#39
Hi Lujan,

"To break one fixation, fluid conceptual fixations must be created so we may see within multiples that have fragments from each, and by virtue of being
subject to multiplicity the mind collapses because reason cannot cope with the unknown factors within that equation.

The contradiction here is the terminology is needed; only but for a moment ,then we must squarely look at this terminology with that liquescent fluidity that
is our heritage, which we have lost."

Without the fluidity you speak of our Tonal or "bubble of perception" can merely grow larger and cause the Nagual to grow further away, so to speak.
We have added to what we know, but that is not always enough and can sometimes actually hinder us.

"The problem with intelligence is that it can appropriate concepts and simply add them to its repertoire of 'the known', creating a more inclusive
fixation, which is nevertheless still linear and rigid because it is possessed and defended."

I believe you are saying the same thing here.

"The mind, reason, ego etc hold onto fixations, however broad, far reaching and informed, because without the site of identification, there is nothing by
which to distinguish oneself as unique. Without identification - with memories, knowledge, beliefs, intelligence, gender, time frames, the list is endless - who
or what are we? "

We are not what we have built, thought or been surrounded by. We are only being or spirit, but that is an abstraction unless and until a person has actually
experienced it. And even then, not a walk in the park to experience it a second time. But, that is where your "fluidity" comes into play. It is not
just method, but memory of the feeling of the wholeness of the experience that comes into play. Maybe not the best way to describe it but it's all I've
got right now.

Words are useful to relate experience or method, but wholly inadequate to accurately describe the knowledge of spiritual experience. But words are all we have
to communicate with. So be it.

I think we are meant to alternate between fluidity and stability as we progress. Favoring one or another of either can lead to pathology. I could be wrong on
that, but it seems to me to be a safer journey.

To repeat an experience is to remember the feeling that got you there in the first place. To repeat method only without remembering the underlying mental
gymnastics that accompanied the methods will lead to less than ideal results. We have to learn to become self observers in this respect.

Just my two cents.

There is a lot of truth to your post.
