An old essay that may be useful here. Questions are never silly.....

The Mystery of Intent
Intent has always been shrouded in mystery. I would like to share my understanding of Intent, in hopes that you may find it useful.
To Intend is to Know. Not the knowing that you are thinking of. Not the knowing that is a result of an accumulation of experience or
information. But the knowing that is an ACT. We Intend all the time, unknowingly so. But, to consciously Intend is the act of a Seer. You have done this.
Recall a time when you "just knew" that something was so. This was an act of Intent.
Lift your left arm above your head. You Intended that. Intent is a natural process. In the 2nd Attention (dreaming), it is simply like
moving your arm, but it has to be learned just like you learned it here.
So, you might ask, "How does this work?" I offer an abbreviated explanation of a complex process. I hope that this
explanation helps clarify the process of Intent.
In order to Intend in higher awareness, we must hunt, collect, and save energy. All the prayer, affirmations, and positive thinking
will do very little without the Personal Energy to anchor our Intent.
All manifested universes are permeated and composed of fibers. There are billions of these fibers, making a "Web" of life.
These spiritual fibers are Intent. We have each Intended millions of fibers, be they emotional, physical, mental, or spiritual intentions. These fibers
connect us to the universes around us… people, places, events, feelings, objects, opinions, etc. These fibers we have Intended constitute our perceptual
agreement with the physical world (and each of the other realms, too!). This determines what we experience and perceive. We each have a sufficient amount of
Personal Energy upon entering this incarnation, but it has been mostly squandered away in this cultural box. There are four things we must do to establish and
increase our ability to 'consciously' Intend.
No. 1 -- we must stop feeding our energy to the parasitic fibers we have created. This means we need to stop giving our time, energy,
and attention to the activities, objects, beliefs, and people that do not contribute to our life energy and, thus the web of life.
No. 2 -- we must stop creating MORE useless, parasitic fibers. This means we need to understand the priorities of the spiritual life
and quit starting projects and activities that don't contribute to the strengthening of the web of life. It's simple. Just ask "Will this
contribute to my life energy?" and, thus the web of life?
No. 3 -- we must eliminate the drain of energy via the fibers we have allowed others to connect to us, and we must recover the energy
we have lost through these fibrous connections. This means we need to release the emotions we have stored in our memories that are pulling energy from us.
These are the hurtful and fearful ones; the parasites.
No. 4 -- Once we have made some headway on these lifelong practices, we can truly begin to gather Personal Energy. In addition to the
energy fed to us from The Source, we can acquire power, or energy, from certain locations, certain entities, certain objects, certain plants, and certain
practices. We can knowingly establish methods to harvest power from these.
A Shaman Intends as an Act of Power. The strength, length, and stamina of his Intent is determined by the Personal Energy he possesses.
To Intend is to create a fiber in the web. Feeding that fiber brings it to manifestation. It matters not whether it is here or in dreaming, because in truth,
ALL perception is dreaming...
