I will do my best to answer your question with some of my own simple understandings. Realize that Im in the learning mode myself, and that there is so very much more to all of this. Talking it out, however, and comparing notes is how we will all learn more.
The mechanism of self-talk is a function of the mind. Internal dialogue maintains our perception of the world. From what I can tell, it is not always our flyer, which is engaging in self-talk. The flyer exploits this function, however, as one of its tools to control us. An important technique to break ones worldview is to suspend all internal dialogue. When accomplished, our perception of reality, which has been maintained by such, collapses. The flyer must prevent this from happening, because it not only loses control of us as a consequence, but we move to a different mental field. The main maneuver the flyer has accomplished to enslave us is substituting its mind for our own true mind, or rather causing us to use its mind to think. Therefore one way to confirm the existence of the flyer is to attempt silencing the minds internal dialog. Its like being in a dark room with you and another person who sounds like you talking. When you stop, you will suddenly realize that there is still someone else in the room talking. The flyer will fight you tooth and claw to sustain the internal dialogue that maintains the status quo. If it was just you thinking, then if you willed to stop thinking, you would instantly succeed in doing so.

As illustrated, our own thoughts and the flyers thoughts are mixed together. The flyer however, is an expert at the mechanisms of the mind and uses the power of suggestion to ruthlessly maintain the upper hand. A common technique it uses is pacing and leading, which involves first agreeing with you, to pace along with you on a thought or impulse you initiate. Then it takes the lead and twists what you are thinking while making it appear that its thoughts are your own.
It is a good exercise to maintain vigilance and discrimination about what is being said on the forum. There is no shame in admitting that yours or someone elses flyer has the upper hand, in what is being said here or anywhere else, since most everyone with very few exceptions is still under its control. This is stalking our flyer. The goal is to first gain an awareness of when it is thinking/speaking as opposed to you, and then start to gain an understanding of its modus operandi by observing how it behaves when in control.
