We can only have one thought at a time.
Use this to your advantage. Listen to your breathing every time you find yourself talking inside. If you cannot hear yourself breathe, just pretend that you do and listen to the Memory of what Your Breathing sounds like.
Do this each time you find yourself talking. It will become habit. To get rid of a habit, you have to replace it with something. Another Habit!
So, replace the habit of speaking to yourself with the habit of listening to your breathing.
This way your subconscious mind will not rebel, on the contrary, it will welcome the new habit.
Breathing carries no meaning as words do, and so it will not add to your description of the world.
