the human form is like a skin, a pill, naturally fixes the shape. DJ's lineage used the extreme method of removing it in order to get rid of foreign installation and all - in the high price of loosing all that connect them to being human, including the natural, biological bonds of love with their loved ones.
they where such acrobats they could do it - jump away of all bonds and land on their feet, no harm.
human mold is what fixed the biotype (is this the right term?)it's not foreign installation - but, as CC mentioned in DJ's name, humans are supposed to be particularly vulnerable, for carrying their luminosity OUT of their luminous egg.
my personal take - fliers are 1 of many parasites who eat luminosity, neither the first nor the worst (ALchevai - the alfa IBs - are).
