Hello Bright Flame,
Appologies to all for my absence lately. Back in the cosmic swing of things again.
Bright Flame Writes:
"My former teacher said many, many times that "We don't have a thought of our own.
We are empty vessels,..(clay pots as the Bible puts it) we are either filled with the Holy Spirit, or A Spirit.
What thoughts inspire us tell us which.
If we don't like the thoughts that come to us, we can change which "Spirit" we have influencing us."
I find your insights more advanced than most notions, but also atypical of a certain mindset I'm very familiar with.
I will share my opinions of the subject, forged by the influences of a Western Esoteric background, but tempered recently by my reassessments of reality which are more toltech based.
I believe we are indeed vessels for "the Holy Spirit". Now that is just a label for the One Spirit or primary Self. Yet this spirit, begets us created spirits to experience life and act in the manifested realm as its agents. To oversimplify our existence by describing us as empty vessels that can be arbitrarily filled is to demean the profound and mysterious nature of the One Spirit. The FI is a specie of spirit like human beings. It is therefore, in my estimation, naive and unwise to let ourselves be influenced by another individual, created spirit. Such an one does not have the same relationship with us that the One Spirit does. To be aligned with the One Spirit and It's impulses is to be true to our own inner essence. That is why it is necessary to exercise discrimination between the impulses of our own true mind and essence and the false voice or mind of the Foreign Installation.
Peace,
Toltechie
