Does anyone here have a FI magical pass description?
#3
Maybe you are right in all that you say.....
However, on the other hand, I couldn't help but notice that your response to my post was to provide answers to questions I did not actually ask. More interesting still is that your answers had the mood of someone who had been slightly provoked, and felt the need to defend him/herself. Your post seemed to me at first to be rather emotionally charged rather than considered.
But reading your post once more I started to sense a hint of an underlying structure which gave me the unsettling feeling it had an agenda that I suspect not even you were aware of.
I noticed your post starts with a rather abrupt tone, then switches to rubbishing the magical passes book. Then, your post invites us all to take the point of view of the flyers and asks whether 'such gestures would protect them from you' ('them' being humans). Then you immediately provide the answer to that question by taking on the role of a flyer yourself and saying,' ....I for one would laugh my head off and show the gesturer how absurd his/her hopes were...'
Next, as if to reinforce the point, you provide a very strong challenge to a question *nobody has actually asked* when you say:
'so... what makes you think that it would work on a different life form far more intelligent than what it's given credit for???'
The 'so...' at the beginning reads like almost like the verbal equivelent of squaring up to me, a subtle way of showing dominance, and remember my original post simply asks for a 'mere' pass description, without expressing an opinion on anything.
At the end of this challenge to the question nobody asked is this curious 'fact' about a 'life form far more intelligent than what it's given credit for....' - where did that spring up from? and why does it have the feeling of smugness about it? - is this some kind of victory roll, perhaps?
Then there is a sudden change of mood with this line:
'suite yourself, though... Magical Passes is available from any book store...'
Why calm the tone so swiftly?
Having just muddled my original enquiry, offered absolutely no help whatsoever, stirred up a load of emotional chaos and made arguments out of nothing, and then WON those arguments aggressivly.... now you turn your back and walk away effectivly saying, 'whatever...' leaving me hanging, as it were.
In other words, your post looks rather like a perfect example of the flyers' mind being given free reign.
I started out with a straight forward enquiry for a description of the pass to scare off the flyers and now after reading this one reply I already feel slightly less clear, slightly less focused, some doubts creeping in, emotionally pulled this way and that, defensive, and with the feeling of something having been 'resolved to be even more unresolved', a vagueness...... an impotence.
Was that your intention when posting? Or did you even have an intention when you posted? And if not really, do you think somthing else might have been expressing its intentions through you?
I expect some people might think I am making too much of such a short post, but I say read my original post and then the reply again and tell me you don't see something in it.
--o0o--
Anyway, I am delighted to say I have recently been shown a description of a version of this pass and I believe it is an effective (and I would even say a rather mischievous) way of focusing one's intent and the mood of sustained discipline, which is so unpalatable to the flyers, in a way which is not even defiance, but rather what I would call a passionate noncompliance.
