just a fool's question about foreign installation
#3
I used to have a similar viewpoint about our ego being the force we contend with that challenges our spiritual progress towards expansion and liberation. But keen observation of human behavior has lead me to conclude that the FI is the plain, simple, and complete truth.
The good news is that in either case, the tasks to achieve liberation are almost identical.
If we don't have an FI, then why do we act so self destructively? Why, when we are making progress with ourselves do others, often those close to us, step up to the plate and sabotage us with their behavior?
If we do have an FI, then it does not have our best interests in mind and will constantly deceive us into choosing enslaving behavior. When we prevail, the FI in others conspires to put us back in our place.
I don't believe we are at heart so lemming-like. Our loved ones do think they have our best interests in mind, but our deceived into contradictory behavior.
If it was just your ego, things would get progressively better once you set yourself to the task of self improvement. But because it is your FI, the more determined you get, the more you're in for the fight of your life as your resolve threatens your FI's food supply and thus survival.
It is indeed possible to succeed, but you stand much more of a fighting chance if you're armed with awareness of the true nature of the battle with the FI.
The FI still *is* Infinity's gift to us, as an obstacle that helps develop our spiritual strength. But such does not make sense if we only have one life to succeed. I believe our true self has an individuality that survives death. However, if one is totally identified with self-image and body, then what they value as themselves indeed becomes Eagle food to be generically recycled.
In between lives, we simply function in the spiritual realm of second and third attentions, which is more like home. But we soon desire the task of taking on another incarnation and undergoing the tests of the realm of Tonal. Its limitations are what grows and develops us.
