They live in the caves of the wilds all over North America. Few people enter into their world expecting anything but indifference. We humans have no experience of the animal side of their nature, and besides that animal nature they traverse the earth within seconds to help their friends. They love only those who love the earth, and are very frightening to anyone who holds back the truth. I had a terrible hole in my heart--and the darkness was feeding on me. I felt it leaking away energy, and future hope, bringing on physical symptoms that I tried in vain to fix. I finally told a wise friend about my condition, and the energy that was being devoured out of my body. He was wise and frightening, but also funny.
There is only one thing you can do. He said. Let the little people find you in dreams, and they will carve the darkness away. Go into the hills alone--tell no one. The little people respect only the earth. They will know why you come. Have heart--forget the bullshit. Throw up your dinner. Spit on human design.
Be brave when they find you as you sleep face down on the ground. When they find you, you will hear their laughter, feel their wicked sharp fingers. Don't be afraid, let them dig the darkness out of your side. Even then smething might convince you they are there to steal your energy. Remember they only do this because you are brave, and love the earth with your whole being.
I took his advice, and I was scared as ****--but they found me face down in the hills, and flipped my body over in the moonlight and cleared the darkness out of my body.
They are the master healers of the hills. Human beings are to hard to understand, and want something in return. The fierce little people want nothing, but total courage, total fearlessness.
