The So-called process of Krishnamurti was a by-product of the inner workings of the Kundalini Shakti. Nothing more, nothing less. But he didn't do a single
pragmatic thing about it, so he suffered all kinds of things most of his life.
The case of Ramakrishna is very special. He suffered intensly because his inner nature pushed him deep in samadhi but he lacked the knowledge to safely
progress in that path. At times he suffered because of Maha-bhava (Great Devotion), because he wanted to "see" God. Years after reaching the heights
of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (with the aid of two different Gurus), he started to feel, at times, the sufferings of his fellow man.
This pushed him to be an open-public guru-figure... but he knew that only a handful would be able to follow his footsteps.
