Yes, the Nagual does recommend a Light Touch. Similar to the ideas of sustainable Ecology. I try to avoid running over animals when driving, using don Juan's teaching about scanning the horizon; at least, when I can keep my head up.
Now, my issue here is about Castaneda ;was he false, was he making it up?
I don't really care.
Why?
Because the empathies, the emotions, the MOOD ascribed to don Juan, are universal and well worth thinking on.
MOOD is an important issue.
As I explore this, in relation to the Bible and Judeo/Christianity, I find that the MOOD, attitude is in fact lighter, less MORBID (a word that don Juan is quoted by , often) . In other words, rather than condemnation, emphasis on possibilities , and, common failures is don Juan's focus.
Throughout these books, the misery of the human race , as well as the wonder of creation, which humans are Blind to, is a Theme which drew me to them in the first place.
Morbidity is a serious focus. A regular Soap Opera of Human behavior. Continual complaints about issues which a Warrior could confront and Struggle with if he had Impeccability!

Yeah. All have failed. We all seek the Nagual, the Spirit that will remove the Mud Shadows from our eyes so that we can see the beauty of Eternity.
So, maybe Castaneda failed. Seems likely. He was so determined to maintain his STATUS in Society/ Academia.
Ha! He should have taken up Organic Gardening . Yes?
As for myself, I am inspired from other sources, mostly Native American , and, Leftist , Unionist political thought.

I once mentioned the Ghost Dance; an emotional attachment for myself. As I studied it, I found that it had origins in Christian belief. The Indian Prophet walked that extra mile, yet still was massacreed at Wounded Knee.
The Indian way is now almost extinct.
What an Eden they lived within! Everything they needed for a good life was provided by the Grandfather Spirit.
WE are stuck in the destructive torture of the Foreign Installation!
Well, according to the Nagual Sorcerers Stories, somewhere, out there in Infinity, the Great Chiefs, and their People, even Crazy Horse, the great Dreaming War Chief, still live in VICTORY!
Perhaps don Juan's idea of Freedom was that WE can go there, we can BE there, by moving the Assemblage Point; ie: a new Perception backed by Impeccable Action and Habits, supported by Controlled FollyHawkeye and Crow
