Actually, I like this description.
There are some visions I have in meditation in which all I see is this vast array of luminous fibers, all sorts of colors, formless yet constantly fluidly moving within this beautiful, supremely intelligent, liquid/dynamic display of formation that is perennially transitory. Its like a liquid fractal, made of fibers of light except even with fractals there tends to be something fixed dimensionally. This display seen is not fixed in any direction or in any way, and yet there is no chaos whatsoever. It's like completely unobstructed intelligence, free to express itself in any/every possible way....so it moves and boils and roams and explores with boundless energy and curiosity and artfulness it seems to me. The feeling inherent in seeing it is indescribable......pure awe...pure joy....its...what is it? It's just incredible...and I'm feeling a touch of that feeling right now *turns to his left* "thanks for the reminder"
It's a view, for sure...and it feels like a fundamental one to me. The fear you mention, Rosy....I just don't see reason for it, in the light of this view...but then again, acknowledge that this view I've had is one of an infinity of views. I'm sure your view is different.
One thing about this view, though....probably, to release to this view and completely embody it...completely "swim in it" so to speak...would ultimately mean the loss of sense of self. And some perhaps cannot tolerate the notion of not having that...and thus a never ending game is afoot to retain "sense of self" awareness...which is cool....and brave..and adventurous. But, probably, full of fear in many many ways and necessarily so. But, if one is ultimately going to be released to that fundamental expression of awe and dissolution anyways...maybe some see the notion of holding onto the sense of self for as long as is humanly and inhumanly possible as the ultimate challenge.
