You can sit by a stream for a thousand years,
You can sit on zazen eight hours a day,
You can drink tea as if it was booze,
You can talk about the way and put everybody to snooze.


You can talk about compassion all day long,
You can show all your ideas to the whole world.


You can read the Diamond Sutra and know it by hard,
But there is no awakening without a heart.


How dare you to speak of the ways and means,
When you don't love all living things?
