for me personally... my mind was blown when they were planning to do the reset or what it was called (I'm not one to use the proper terminology here).. and I understood that what would happen is that theyd actually clone/copy the bitcoin thread and do a fork in the road where the original would continue and the new version would continue.
As I understood it some offshoots like this have happened in the past.
This blew my mind... cause in effect - unless I misunderstood - one would have two values now - the original bitcoin and the new bank approved/preferred bitcoin. Like say I had a hundred buck in my wallet and suddenly I'll have 2 hundred bucks notes in my wallet. One original and one new version. Now wtf, did I just double my money?

Its close but not quite how that works.
The blockchain (transaction system) that bitcoin runs on suddenly had two ways to purchase coins via BTC and BCH. From my understanding if you had bitcoin tokens and you controlled your coins (you didnt allow an exchange do it for you), you could decide which coin you wanted to put your money into, one or the other, but not both. If you allowed an exchange handle your coins, the exchange decided which coin to support depending on if they supported both or one or the other.
