I was being deliberately ambiguous due to a few reasons.  

1. I've elaborated on things in the past and it can be frustrating.  Either I'm a poor communicator or my conversational partner is a poor listener.

2.  I'll elaborate for those who I think holds an appreciation for what I might say.  Not just an appreciation, but an understanding.  

Given those things, I only elaborate when I think it's advantageous to do so.  I'm glad you understand.
