Broadly speaking, there appears to be a thing, and people appear to get very cross with you when you call that thing something other than what they call it. But also, for reasons no human being could ever possibly explain, it just loves to be called names.
I suspect, for just plain old intuitive reasons that I cannot explain even if I wanted to, that the zipper is not just an interface, it is also a musical instrument.
