Today I Guess I'll Lose My Mind
Today I guess I'll lose my mind,
free myself and loose it's binds.
You might think this strange to do,
but I contend you'll do it too.
Notice how those thoughts to which we cling,
(and fools confuse for their own being),
disappear quickly like morning's dew;
only to be replaced with thoughts anew.
At best they may leave only shadows,
beliefs grazing in mental meadows.
The reasons behind them must be created again;
can you recreate the rational you had at ten?
Yet even when the arguments are sound,
(and there ain't much of that goin' round),
tiny spectrums of experience beget the analogy,
of attempts to infer forests from seeing but one tree.
Terminal shadows deduced from the imaginings of the blind,
these compose the entirety of our precious mind.
So, of it all I may as well forget,
just... maybe... not yet.
