Storytelling is THE way, since human beings became, of passing on wisdom and  knowledge. It can be fiction, myth, legend, scientific, anything.
We have the ability to know if it's a lie or not. There is truth imbeded in the most fictional of tales. This is how persons avoid persecution and still have a say.
I've got to get a copy of Salman Rushdie's 'Satanic Verses'! His 'Midnight's Children' was an eye-opener to events I knew nothing about, concerning India and Pakistan.
