Mercury is been identified as a possible contributing factor in Autism, and Autism in on the rise, alarmingly so.
Rise in Autism Cases
Mercury of course, like Lead, is a very serious toxin with long-term permanent side effects.
High Mercury levels are becoming quite common in some types of fish, like Swordfish and Shark. I would caution people not to eat Swordfish or Shark, and to check into the mercury levels of the fish they eat.
