HISTORY OF THIS SITE.
#1
It was back in the year 2000 when I realized the need for such a forum like this. Driven by my desire to inform the masses of the existence of the Foreign Installation revealed in Castaneda's final book "The Active Side Of Infinity", I decided to create a new forum called "The Sorcery Exchange". The intent was to exchange information about Castaneda and the Sorcery of the Naguals: Silvio, Genaro, and Don Juan.  The other "Castaneda" sites like Nagual.Net, Toltecnagual and Sustained Reaction were the only other sites that had this type of content.  Sustained Reaction was the largest but was governed by people who's sole desire was to discredit Castaneda and paint him a hoax and fraud. The Sorcery Exchange grew and one day I found Jimmy Two Hats writing on the above mentioned forums. He was quickly set upon by the regulars and he begin to retreat. I was able to contact him and enlist him to write his tales on my forum. A dreaming group began and we used email to correspond our dreams. This group had 13 members and we did alot of powerful stuff. Alice9 and Jimmy ended up getting together after meeting on the forum. Alice9 created a short name for the forum which was Sor Ex. Then I eventually  renamed it  to SOREX. Sorex was a powerful forum and in a few years  had many naguals and members writing their experiences and making posts with their knowledge. SOREX  was one of the greatest online sorcery sites created. There was literally thousands of posts about magic, sorcery, nagualism, shamanism and dreaming information. A fantastic online library of the likes I've never seen before or since.

Then doom came. A hacker was able to hack into main EZBOARD computer sites and many forums were erased. Sorex was one of the hardest hit. Interesting thing was that the forums attacked were mainly Sustained Reaction and Sorex. I cannot tell you what a loss it was. I had before the hack copied Jimmy Two Hats posts into a separate forum otherwise all his writings would have been erased forever.

I did what I could to recreate the site. I renamed it "Separate Reality". It slowly began to get new members and new posts. Eventually a new dreaming group was formed. Over the years the dreaming group has had many members come and go and today it still exists. I decided awhile back the forum needed to move in a new direction and renamed it again to Shamanic Warrior. This direction was to incorporate the old ways with the new tech and bring Castanedas heritage into a new age.

Jimmy Two Hats and Alice9 are alive and well and living in New York I believe. I am keeping the dream alive.

In 2010, based on the new members coming into this forum the forum was renamed again to NEW SEERS as that is what we are. There is now a Warrior Party and a New Seers dreaming group. We have over 600 members from around the world and growing every day. Welcome to the only Nagual Power Spot on the Internet: New Seers!

Hello Lonewolf
When I first came to these forums, maybe 5 years ago, I signed on at the 'Castaneda'  forum, which you have referred to lately as needing attention.. Where did that fit into your history? It was my first forum experience.

That's some heavy-duty purpose, Lonewolf. Kudos to you; all I know is a few curses in Spanish and German!
My original purpose in coming here was to better understand what Castaneda was writing about. In that, you, and others,  have been successful with helping that understanding.
I have had to make unusual decisions lately. ie: needing a local connection, I jumped into attending an Episcopal church. Odd, but the spirit growth is hopeful. A traditional African-American congregation, and a building that is a protected site (beautiful brick and woodwork)  it is now multi-cultural. Here is a test of controlled folly. But not so difficult. The rector preached from Flannery O'Conner today. That's one on me I never expected! The topic: basically, self-importance and self-reflection.

Good to hear Hawkeye. Never stop learning, never think you have it figured out and never stop being open to seeing outside the box. Thats my philosophy.

Hi Lonewolf
Haven't been here lately; too many issues of material life taking my time and energy.
Also, the forum has become so complex that without constant contact,  it's hard to merge with the discussion.
The church thing didn't work out. There were not even any to draw on, as Julian did.

Great to read about the history of the site.
I was in Sustained reaction for many years, comparably. Have quit now.
It's a nice place here.
Many wishes from my heart to your -and everyone's- Path.

Then the board was renamed to NAGUAL FORUMS - which has remained its name to this day. I, however, prefer to call it Sorcery Smile and refer to it often as 'The Sorcery Site'.

It is true that we have many hundreds of members in our members' list... some of them, however, sock puppets and many who have just posted a couple of times (those I have been deleting when I found some time, so maybe our members' list has actually shrunk since LW wrote this lol). There have been many interesting, peculiar and wonderful people who have stopped by and gone. One could say this is a hub or a meeting place for those of us with these 'uncommon interests'.

Whenever I have some time and focus on sharing and talking to people at this site I am rewarded by learning and growing. It is nothing short of miraculous Smile. I hope we transition smoothly to the new platform
(or at least with not too many bumps )
