Good evening all.

Hi everyone, hope all is well.

Im new to the site, and hope i can offer as much as i recieve.

A bit about me, im a relatively intuitive being, with an interest in developing my ability to dream. I have lucidly dreamed on several occasions but have only very rarely achieved this with the intention. I have seen many references to Carlos Castenedas work but have only read 'The Eagles Gift' in part, due to the inability to deciepher the 'storytelling' way of writing.

I have 'secondhand' knowledge of nagualism but can't claim to know about it due to a lack of experience.

I look forward to the experiences that will arise from this forum, and the chats that i shall encounter,

all the best...

Welcome, Scratch!

I have no doubt you'll find many experiences here. Let's hope they're of the more pleasant variety. That and yes, I find Castenedas books in general to be difficult to decipher too.

Pleasure to meet you, the books are not some kind of cipher of secret code, what you read is exactly what is written here, the thing is that you cannot look at it like castaneda saying "Oh, is it really like this?" "There must be something behind it!" That is bullshit, The Teachings of Don Juan are myth, its absolute story and its have nothing to do with "Normal"...

Heya StartFromScratch Wellcome
If you wanna go straight for dreaming. Read 'The art of Dreaming' by Castaneda

For understanding of Don Juans body of knowledge - it is best to start with the first book he wrote and the read them one after the other.
You will maybe still find it difficult to grasp, but then you have this forum to ask questions.

What is 'second hand' knowledge of nagualism?

I would consider it knowkedge of nagualism through 2nd person observation rather than a first persons perspfective. although im thouroughly interested in the subject of nagualism im still not entirely sure its my path at this moment in time. And thats my own personal interpretation as to why CCs books have no current pull on me and why imfound them difficult to 'digest' whos to say things wont change though

maybe check 'The wheel of Time' by Castaneda SFS
That is a very different book

Be open for signs and what inspires you, that could lead you to your way.

IMHO just too many new terms if you start Castaneda with "eagle's gift" - you just need to start earlier - best  from the very first book (the teaching of Don Juan) but if it's too much - go for "Journey to Ixtlan" - imho the most important book, being a handbook how to become a warrior.
this one is on-line
