Heads up... you will have to unsubsrcibe from topics you post in or esle you will get email notifications from them all. There are like 3 places where you can do this. I think one is in the email you get, one is in your own account settings and one is here below the reply box. You need to click on the button called "Topic Tools" next to the "Post Reply" - there you find subscribe and unsubscribe options (depending on whether you are subscribed or unsubscribed)
Similarly, if you want to turn these settings on in a specific thread go to the same place in "Topic Tools" (if it does not happen automatically).
(My personal wish is that they'd keep the notification only in that little bell area next to the PM envelope and my avatar on top right of the page. But not send me emails. Oh well... I have not looked over any of the user settings for all I know there is that option somewhere... I'm too busy with the admin panel :S.
