One needs to be aware though that it is not always easy to determine what is a sock puppet and what not.. so even if we say we do not want them around some might slip by, not to mention someone might be wrongly seen as a sock puppet when they are trying to hide their IP/location identity.
P.S. Please leave a message below if you got suggestion about how to go at sock puppets. It would also be good if you just made a post with your vote, so we know it is you and not a sock puppet vote

Im trying to find a single actual example of when a person has used a sock puppet to good effect. I cant.
Having said that i accidentally clicked the box saying that sock puppets are part of stalking etc. Its not the box i thought i was ticking.

I voted yes. It seems to me that if they need to make another persona(s) to validate themselves then it only hinders their progress in the long run. Wouldnt it be more internal dialogue to process? Let em have their fun. Btw "baby vote no!" had me laughing rather hard...lol

My seeing has revealed conclusively to me that Mrs Nagual and BabyNagual are sock puppets. In order to keep the voting fair their two no votes should be removed from the total.

I voted no to having sock puppets and so did Sen and WG. Therefore, Nagual Human has voted several times in his various forms. This is a good point as to why sock puppets are bad, the individual with multiple identities can vote several times. We cannot have an honest vote with someone like Nagual Human involved, he already dirtied this vote making it invalid. (even say no but voting yes).

NagualHuman did not vote multiple times (Im thinking one vote more is a mis-click, which would account for only one vote we do not know. or, if it is not a mis-click then we have 2 votes unaccounted for, but why deduce it was NH voting 2x? We got enough members who could have voted and not written a post).
So, I am supposing that someone other than seesaw, who said they voted no did not click the no option (and maybe clicked yes or that yes was someone else altogether).
no for sockpuppets: shamanka, seesaw, watergaze, senear, dan - should be 4 votes (because seesaw mis-clicked), but it only says 3. Anyhow, with LW voting in text and not button, we can count his vote in too (LW please click the no, to make it easier on us to count ). Hope I did not misunderstand shamanka's meaning how she voted.
at the moment the vote looks like this:
3x yes for sock puppets: Whatman, Mr Nagual, Xlyer
6x no for sock puppets: shamanka, seesaw, watergaze, senear, dan, LoneWolf
votes that are not written in a message in this thread will not be counted..
+ someone voted who did not write their vote in a message below, this vote is not counted as we do not know if it was a sock puppet vote or not. So if you voted and are reading this, please let us know who you are.

That is true, I would like me voten shiften, because voting yes and now when see it, I cant anymore do it again, feeling is not pleasant, because its okay to not be in that game as it makes me to do something not wanted, so it ended at voting no, because tought its fun, but instead it should be strict truth, no matter that it is sometimes like pain in the ass, we must be glad for that.

Your post has to us all proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that there has been some vote tampering in this poll. Thank you for that detective work, without which many here may never have even suspected any voting irregularities were at play. To this information watergaze has added that "NagualHuman did not vote multiple times", which my seeing also has revealed. This means that the puppeteer behind Mrs Nagual and BabyNagual slipped in 2 yes votes while claiming to have voted no in order to try to skew the voting even more, all while getting the blame pinned on NagualHuman! Who ever is behind this is obviously deviously clever, and no doubt devilishly handsome.
It is obvious that in order to combat such a foul fiend as this all the resources of this site must be brought to bare. I for one propose adding an immediate requirement for membership on this site that all members must prove their identity by sending in scanned images of their thumbprints as well as being required to use photos of their driver's licenses as their avatars, and that non-members will not be allowed to post! Now I'm not naive enough to think that these measures alone will be enough to catch the arch-fiend behind Mrs and BabyNagual, but it might help quiet any ideas people may have about seesaw being a puppet of watergaze or that senear is just another incarnation of xlyer. As for you supervillian, whomever you are, know that we will catch you and you will be brought to justice. You might think you'll get away with it, but in the end even you will learn that crime does not pay!

if you vote yes for sock puppets that means you want no change in these matters, that you would like sock puppets to roam the site as they have always done.
if you vote no it means more work for me and the mods . The IPs of new members will be checked and if they are the same as another member's IP they will be banned. Or if the IPs jump around the glove too much (russia, honk kong, usa, germany, each time a different place etc) they will be banned. These banned members will be informed about the reason for their banning and if someone was marked as a sock puppet by mistake they can contact us back to explain their situation.
If you want to know how it will be you are free to consult the oracle
In the meantime you can feel into how you see sock puppets affecting this place or not affecting this place and then you will get at your answer: how it might be if one or the other option is taken.

Hmm, If I have anything to say about it as a member of site.
It is an rubbish intention, because some warriors travel so much, and have to have their internial connection, through several IP , identity protection software so much, simply because they travel 24 hours around globe in jet or that they work behind the systems to, actually project any change in the overal perspection landscape of all people, that they have no other option because otherwise the agents, boulvar and other bad people would find them straight away, killed or set into prison. for this I say that there is no way to recognize a sock puppet and we should throw this into section Oblivion, the topic as a whole. We cannot simply deny the reality of Matrix.

Is it possible to vote yes for sock puppets and no for spam?
I've been a very vocal opponent of sock puppets on other forums I've belonged to in the past, and over time my experiences taught me that fighting them actually isn't a very good idea. For one thing admins and mods ended up having to spend so much time chasing sock puppets that everything else on the forums got neglected as a result. Worse still there were times when people I knew were innocent had their accounts stripped and all their posts deleted because of mistakes by the site management. These people almost always left and didn't return. Finally, none of the methods of fighting them ever worked. The people using puppets to disrupt the forums always returned with new puppets to do it all over again. They saw it as a game and continued to improve at it. Ultimately the attempted cure, (which failed), proved worse than the disease.
For these reasons, I'd suggest we focus on a user-side solution to the issue. Just as a reminder for those who've forgotten it is possible to filter out other people's posts. Also if anyone knows of a good program for reading web forums that has good filters and would work with yuku please let us know.
Edit: I just noticed these forums use RSS, which is a very common format. I know there's tons of RSS reader programs out there, (many of which are free), so it shouldn't be hard for people to find ones they like. I've already tested subscribing to this with Firefox's Live Bookmarks, which works although I don't see any filters on it yet, (I never actually used live bookmarks before). As a side note I see that FLB just lists the most recent posts from any of these forums in order which makes checking to see what's new on sorcery much easier. I'm going to keep exploring RSS readers a bit, and if I fall in love with one I'll mention it here.
