yes. the trouble with some parts of the site is that you cannot edit a post, so then if you want to add something you need to write another post. The solution to this is not necessarily to give the edit function to people, we know why wolf removed it in the first place and even in the last week i saw people deleting and also editing out their posts in those parts of the site that allow it.
We are working on changes to the site right now and hopefully it will be soon seen here too. But I dont mean to jump the gun, or how that saying goes, so before we put it all together, as in see how this and that links to whatever are the ideas about change, it will not be put into practice and once it is it will still be a sort of working version on which feedback from user will very much be desired. Even at this point suggestions on how to go about managing this site can be very helpful. For example:
do you guys want to have the option to edit and delete your posts? i guess you do , so the next question would be if you find it disruptive if people edit out/change or delete their posts from an ongoing discussion. Sadly, once we give people these options they are misusing it. So the real question is: Do you want people to have edit and delete buttons even when they are going to be misusing them?
I am looking into having the general setting on no edit no delete for all forums but one (which will be like a haven for these 'stalkers' - i do not like that this is the term they like to describe what they are doing, because imo that is not stalking) and then, if possible, change the 'rights' of some members that have proven to be intelligent and consistent in the way they post and have been coming to this site long enough for this to show. But I do not know yet how that can work, if it can. But I am saying that even if this will prove to be some more work i would be willing to do it, if yuku gives that option.
Sadly, doing this will not change scout1's access. what I am thinking of doing there is edit the posts of these users when needed and yes, put a cap on their posting limit. Right now, since seesaw pointed this issue out, unclesam is being observed . If anyone sees any inappropriate behavior now please notify me/us in the support forum or by pm, and inappropriate i mean on any level, even too many posts in a short time etc. I do wish people would think more before posting and use the preview button...
One other thing that might change is the index layout. I find it pretty confusing that we have CC: The Teaching's of Don Juan and then we have New Seers and then we have Modern Nagualism. I mean what is the difference between CC

J part of the forum and New Seers? and between New Seers and Modern Nagualism? It seems to be left to the intuition to each user. Why is a not doing thread posted in New Seers as opposed in the CC

J part? I do see a reason, but just cause I look for it . Why is rosy's Picture thread in Mastering Awareness? If there is a logic there I dont see it (when looking at the type of posts in that part of this site it does not seem to fit with rosy's thread). But before we start moving stuff around, we need to have clear sections or users will be faced with the same problem and nothing would be changed in a more permanent fashion it would just create more chaos.
So, similarly with everything else, before we start banning people or limiting them on posting we can give them other options to hopefully take care of the issue, and once those dont work we will move on to limiting them by force. I can say this now because uncle sam is not spamming the site, he is interested in about 4 threads and that is doable I think until we figure stuff out. But like I said, if it disturbs anyone what he or anyone else is doing right now you need to inform us so we know how urgently people need this to be dealt with and then we will. I know that scout1 has become uncontrollable in the past and he was banned and limited, right now this is not repeating, not yet anyway. But if we know what irritates people then we will know how to go about setting the rules and guidelines that shall be posted in the introduction section of this site and which will be expected to be followed by every member of this site. This will make it much easier on everyone because it will be clear when the rules are not followed that it will have some repercussions.
A question I have for you all is also if you want to allow the same person to come and post under different nicknames. Of course this cannot be controlled by moderators due to proxies (but if a person posts with a different ip each time then it is obvious) or people living in more places and actually consistently using different ip addresses for different accounts, but we can inform members that we do not appreciate this type of identity switches and that they are expected to inform us if switching nicknames for whatever reason. But id like to know the position of our members on this before stating something like that, many value their anonymity and when they feel that a certain nick has become associated with some perceptions that they want to have a new identity. I have my personal opinion on that, which is clear by what i write here, but i would not push it onto all of this site if that is not the feeling of the majority of stable members. In order to find out the members' point of view on this I will make a thread, maybe a poll, here in the support section. However, all of this will not be happening very fast because at this point in time I am pressed to finish things in my personal life. I did not plan to make site changes until end of february at least, but due to the voices here in this thread I have started on it now and hopefully the results will come in the next week or so after hearing some of the voices of active members of this site.
I started my 'term of office' with making some stuff happen in the private part of this site, which is imo the most important for the stable active members here and not visible to you all, so it might seem that nothing is happening.. but that is not the case.
I would not have written this post informing you of things being cooked had seesaw and quantum shaman not made these posts, even though things have been already in the cooking pot, so to speak. I prefer to go directly to doing stuff instead of talking about doing stuff . And so i dont like to say i am thinking on how to go about all this when i dont have too much to show for it yet . But I hope this post can reassure you that you are not on your own with wanting some changes and that people who can make stuff happen are doing more than listening. I also appreciate these posts very much, because I need to know what the wishes of members are in order to make this site better for you. Also, I prefer a discussion or a time to think on stuff before I throw changes at people, so look to this part of the site for new threads for example on how to divide the site into sections or the policy of various nicknames or excessive posting into one thread and all that. I will post a draft of the rules and guidelines here for discussion, revision and consideration etc.
