The center for the Will is located about halfway between the belly button and the pubis. If you measure yourself from head to toe, the halfway point is where it is located.
In the Chinese esoteric traditions it is called the Dan Tien. I am sure it is known by other names in other cultures.
The spot is the same for both males and females.
In our Toltec tradition (not just the Casteneda one) it is also called the 'gap' – this is where death enters the body, but not necessarily how the energy leaves the body. It takes a continuous beating from the forces that would destroy, but it also takes continuous reinforcement from forces that would revitalize.
Using the center for the will is how the body focuses intent. For me, this point is beginning to have at least as much significance (if not more) as the concept of the assemblage point.
Focusing on the center for the will can help you realize your true desires and how to manifest them. It starts with manifesting things within the body itself – to make it healthier, stronger, and to feel good. If the center for the will is strong, it can then be focused on the bodies movement and more effective physical talent. It is easier to feel and use the center of the will when the body is in good shape, or in the process of getting in better shape (so fat people can still use it if they are focusing on physical improvement on a consistent basis). It is also far, far easier to feel and use it when you have abstained from sex, or built up a good amount of sexual energy.
There are energetic, luminous lines or tentacles (1 to 5) that can be used to focus on objects, items, or almost anything. They can even be focused on the head to dispel delusions or internal dialogue. Often what one thinks they desire is not what they 'truly' desire. The Will helps you to know what you truly want, and gives you the impetus to start going after what you really want.
If a warrior has the golden opportunity to develop and feel the Will, and something in life drains that warrior it will soon become quickly apparent what that something is. The warrior will suddenly find that the will is flacid, and she or he will have to start gathering the discipline and intent to use it again, hopefully with more impetus next time around to fight the energy draining demon (could be a habit, addiction, person etc).
The Will grants all true desires, and defeats all demons, except Death.
