in response to requests, im going to describe the ceremony for finding ones true direction. it seems that occasionally, a person has more than one direction.
this is a simple ceremony, but it requires that one journey to a location that is untouched by the vibrations of civilization.
begin by seeking out eight rocks. These should be golf ball or egg size.look for them with intent, and ask to be attracted to the correct rocks. they will grab your attention.
once you have your rocks, choose a nearby clearing. taking one rock at the time and speaking to each and every one(asking for its help in your directions ceremony) place them in a circle. the first rock will be the south. place a second rock at south-east, then east, then north.east and so on.this is counterclockwise. do not place them clockwise! use a compass to confirm your directional placing. these rocks will form a protective cylinder, reaching upward and down.. do not break the plane of the cylinder with arm, hands feet etc.when you do, the protective cylinder is broken and a period of time is necessary to establish it again. be sure your circle is as round as possible, adjusting as needed. the point between the first rock and last rock you placed is your gate.
now, enter the sacred circle through the gate. face the south. if you have a drumming cd, play it.close your eyes and begin dancing, by lifting your feet, one at the time, just the heels. the effort is to draw energy from the earth mother, through the feet.breathe evenly and match your breath to your dancing.
once you have established a breathing and dancing rhythm, reach out to the south. let your attention go forward into the distance of the south. after a few moments begin turning toward the east, just a little bit. keep dancing, and let your attention move out in that direction. proceed around the wheel in this manner at your own place. feel the sensations of each direction. forget which direction you are facing, just keep dancing and moving a little bit at a time, around the circle. some directions might feel closed to you, some might feel happy or sad. one direction will feel like home. continue around the wheel several more times, after you have discovered one that feels just right. be sure you have the right one. open your eyes. consult your compass.
expect to spend an hour or more between the rock collecting, circle building and dancing.
